Black Sabbath’s Bill Ward is in the Studio
We’re not entirely sure why, but Bill Ward is in the studio, and we’re assuming he’s working on something solo.
The famous Black Sabbath drummer shared a message on New Year’s that hinted at new music. The video he posted on Instagram shares that he has been doing something in an official capacity behind closed doors.
“Happy New Year, everybody. We’re in the studio, and, these people behind me actually work with me in the studio and I work with them. We’ve got Bill and we’ve got Mikey and TJ. TJ is right there. This is my crew that I work with throughout the year and some other guys that won’t… They’re not in the picture; they don’t even wanna be in the picture. But we’re making records still, so we’ll see how all that works out.”
Most fans are guessing that Ward is in the studio working on a solo album, or that he’s joined a new band that he has yet to announce. But it’s clear he’s working on something, and it seems he’s being a little cryptic about it on purpose.
Of course, pretty much anything Ward decides to take on will be a darkly blessed endeavor, since he has been the backbeat of Black Sabbath, and heavy metal in general, since 1968. Even at the age of 75, he surely has a lot more to offer the world of heavy music. For those who don’t know, he stepped away from the band in the ’80s, but rejoined for their 2011-2013 tour, but not for their final reunion tour (if it truly was that).
Whatever the big reveal is, we can’t wait to see what Ward has in store.
