Gruesome are Working on Follow Up to 2018 Album
Death metal supergroup Gruesome made lots of fans happy for the holidays with the announcement of their first album since 2018.
For those not familiar, the band featured Matt Harvey of Exhumed and Left to Die on guitar, guitarist Daniel Gonzalez of Possessed, Robin Mazen of Castrator and Derkéta on bass, and drummer Gus Ríos of Left To Die and Living Monstrosity.
This will be Gruesome’s first record since 2018’s Twisted Prayers album. Known as purveyors of the classic death metal sound, we’re excited to see what comes from the band next, especially after such a long hiatus.
Ríos announced the news on social media, as he claimed they would be hitting the studio in January to get an album out in 2024. He also mentioned that they might be releasing some songs ahead of the full album.
His post reads:
“Ran through a couple of the NEW @gruesomebandofficial songs for our upcoming album on @relapserecords and yeah this shit is DEFINITELY next level!
“We are halfway done writing and i know it’s taking awhile but we are working on it! I’m going to record drums on 2 songs in January and maybe we’ll release one of them so everyone can check out the new direction…or progression actually.
“@mattharveymustbedestroyed@covenantofdan let’s get back to work come January! ????????

Hopefully the record will come out during the earlier part of the year, and global touring will ensue. Stay tuned for more updates from Gruesome as the year unfolds.
