Nekrogoblikon Get Two New Vocalists as Nicky Calonne Leaves on Good Terms

Goblin metal may not be the biggest or fastest rising subgenre, but the folks at Nekrogoblikon have been flying that flag for a while now. Earlier today, the band announced a major shift in their lineup, as not only were they losing vocalist Nicky Calonne (or Nicky Von Doom if you’re nasty), but they’re also gaining two new vocalists in John Goblikon and Infant Annihilator‘s Dickie Allen.

According to the announcement, Calonne opted to leave the band to “pursue a new life path.” He’d been featured on every studio release sinasce the band’s inception back in 2006, though he performed under different names like Nicky Von Doom and Scorpion.

Though Calonne hasn’t yet released a statement on his departure to our knowledge, the band says both sides split amicably, so you likely won’t see too much drama surrounding the change. In fact, some of the members like Goblikon are excited for the change.

“I’m friggin’ singing RIGHT NOW! About dang time! And, I am excited to be the first guy in a band to ever say, ‘BIG THINGS COMING! STAY TUNED!’”

Similarly, Allen said he was excited to continue providing the various growls, snarls, screams, and squeals you’d expect from a band at least partially fronted by a fucking goblin.

““I’m extremely grateful and stoked to join Nekrogoblikon full-time At the start of 2023, I never expected it to end like this. After such a short period of time, these guys have become family, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for Nekrogoblikon.”

Currently the band has no plans to go on tour, so we’ll have to wait and see how this new lineup shakes up sometime in the future.
