Spectral Voice Announce First Full-Length Since 2017

Sludgy death metal force Spectral Voice are finally putting out a new album, after a seven-year wait for a new full record.

The band features Paul Riedl of Blood Incantation, Morris, Kolontryrsky, and Jeff Barrett, as well as Eli Wendler from Black Curse. The new album, Sparagmos, will come out February 9 via Dark Descent Records. Ahead of the new record, the band streamed the song “Red Feasts Condensed Into One,” which you can listen to below.

“The content of the album oscillates between lamentation and exaltation. An immersive, morbid atmosphere of funereality longs for the liberation of death and mourns the agony of life. Coupled with moments of frenetic madness, grandeur, terror, and ecstasy, the point we are trying to get to is the moment in which—through sacrifice—atavistic wildness is unleashed, and the ultimate exaltation of life through death is realized,” says Wendler.

The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Arthur Rizk at Redwood Studio, with artwork by Manifester. It’s the band’s first full record with 2017’s Eroded Corridors of Unbeing, and from the new single, we can already tell it’s darker, heavier and and weirder, less old school death and more experimental madness. It’s also slow and sludgy, really leaning into their doomier elements.

The track list for the new record is as follows. The low amount of tracks for a full-length leads us to believe the whole thing will be just as doomy.
