Check Out Manticora’s Epic and Symphonic New Single “Necropolitans”
Riding through the interwebs like an unhinged horde, the Danish dudes in Manticora dropped a new single earlier today off their upcoming album Mycelium that looks to show the band’s more symphonic metal side.
The track, “Necropolitans,” is the second single off their forthcoming 10th studio album. Though unlike their previous single “Beast Of The Fall,” which sounded way heavier, this one definitely soars a lot more. Not sure if it’s the guitar work by Kristian Larsen and Stefan Johansson or the impressive vocals by Lars F. Larsen, but there’s just something about this song that sounds like it would fit in an Iced Earth album — well, before all the treason and all that.
Accompanying the single’s release is a Cthulhu-inspired lyric video, which you can check out below. Produced by Wayne Joyner, who’s worked in the past with Dream Theater, Everdawn, ProgPower USA, Scar Symmetry, Static X and Sevendust, the video features some epic and pretty sci-fi looking scenes. Joyner said his involvement in the project goes back a while, having known the band for quite some time.
“I’ve known Manticora for 18 years and given their history and musical endeavours, I added a Cthuluian vibe to the video – most of the video was created in Unreal Engine, to help tell the story visually and in 3D.”
Mycelium will be released on January 26 via Mighty Music, though you can preorder your copy today.
