Testament Is Officially Working on New Material
Back in July, we learned that there were “seven new jam ideas” in place for the new Testament record. Things looked like new music could be coming soon and it turns out our patience may be rewarded soon, as the band recently posted they were back in the studio.
It’s been a minute since the Bay Area thrash outfit released their most recent record Titans of Creation, so to say we’re overdue for some new jams would be a bit of an understatement. Yet after years of touring (including playing the inaugural Metal Injection Festival), it looks like Testament are working on their first of three new albums after resigning with Nuclear Blast and their first with new drummer Chris Dovas.
According to their recent Instagram post, the band was hard at work at Sterling Sound Studios in Nashville. As you can see below, frontman Chuck Billy is pictured with mastering engineer Justin Shturtz. All they said of their time in the studio was that they’d effectively torn shit up.
“We turned Nashville into Thrashville at Sterling Sound with Justin Shturtz this weekend. Get ready Legions!”
All we can do now is simply look at the Instagram posts and wonder what thrash metal goodies await us in the coming months. Testament always know how to throw down, so if their past output is a hint, this next record’s going to kick some serious ass.
