Judas Priest Release “Trial By Fire” Music Video

0

Nearly two weeks ago, iconic heavy metal band Judas Priest dropped the second single off their upcoming album Invincible Shield, “Trail By Fire.” Compared to the first single “Panic Attack,” this new song was markedly slower, more epic sound.

In the wee morning hours today, the band saw it fit to release the official music video for the single. And while drummer Scott Travis, bassist Ian Hill, and guitarist Glenn Tipton look like their normal selves, Richie Faulkner looks like a guitarist in a JRPG and Rob Halford looks like an old heavy metal ringleader of sorts.

Invincible Shield is the band’s 20th studio album and their follow up to 2018’s killer album Firepower. I personally can’t wait for this one, so March can’t come soon enough. Seriously, the way Faulkner described the new album during an appearance on Audio Ink Radio this past June only makes me more excited.

“There are definitely a few more twists and turns on this record. There are a few more musical parts. So, there might be a bit of… As I said, there are twists and turns. I’ve used the word ‘progressive’ before, and the Internet ripped me a new asshole. But it is progressive in the sense that it’s not like verse-chorus-verse-chorus-solo-chorus-finish. It’s musical part-verse-musical part. It might do a few twists and turns, musically. It veers from the path of it, a bit like ‘Sinner’ or ‘Tyrant’ or something like that. So, it’s a bit more ’70s Priest, which I welcome as a guitar player… It’s ’70s Priest, but it’s not a retro album, by any means. It’s the influence of ’70s Priest in the progressive sense, but it sounds like Priest in 2023.”

The band have plans to do a quick U.K. tour for the first time in almost a decade just days after the new album’s release. Saxon and Uriah Heep will join them on that run. So if you’ll be in the area next March and want to catch Priest in their homeland, be sure to check out the dates below.

Invincible Shield will be available on March 8, but you can pre-order your copy today.
