Avenged Sevenfold Tease Collaboration with Fortnite
Gamers and metal fans unite. Avenged Sevenfold just teased that they’re collabing with massive game franchise and friend to teenage boys everywhere, Fortnite.
For those not familiar with the game, it’s a free-to-play first person shooter where the winner is the last player (or group of players) alive. Recent updates to the game have added special skins for the game where players can be different characters like Darth Vader and Goku and it seems like Avenged Sevenfold might also be part of the game in the near future.
To announce this little project, the generation-spanning punk/metal icons shared a cyberpunk themed video on X featuring a song and graphics themed after their new album Life Is But a Dream… featuring a character sweeping to the tune of the band’s song “(D)eath” playing in the background.
The band captioned the video with one simple, subtle, but not exactly cryptic phrase:
So, fans of the game can probably look forward to using these special Avenged Sevenfold items in play, and there could even be more of a music crossover, but we’ll know more once this drops, or once we get another official announcement from either Fortnite creators Epic Games or the band themselves.
This isn’t the first time Avenged Sevenfold had some fun pop culture teasing in one of their videos for this latest record. Back in September, they made a video for their song “Mattel” which shows a Barbie going through the motions in life and then flipping out. Come to think of it, that’s not too far from the recent Barbie movie plot… Always ahead of the curve, these guys.
The band are clearly still pulling stunts in support of their latest, Life Is But A Dream, and we’re hoping to hear news of more touring or a new album soon.
