Kittie is Officially Working on New Music
We’ve heard some teases from band members and seen them perform live at various festivals, but now there’s official confirmation: Kittie is back in the studio and working on a new record. Definitive proof was posted on the Instagram page of Sienna Studio in Nashville, Tennessee, with a photo showing members of the band hanging out in the studio with esteemed producer Nick Raskulinecz.
Along with the photo, the accompanying caption put any doubt to rest, as it directly addresses the fact that Kittie was there to work on new material.
“Amazing to have @officialkittie and @officialnickraskulinecz with us working on a new album. It’s gonna crush!”
For those that don’t know, Raskulinecz has worked with some big rock and metal names over the years, including: Rush, Alice In Chains, Korn, Rise Against, Halestorm, Evanescence, Skid Row and The Deftones.
In recent months, band members like Mercedes and Morgan Lander both have hinted that the band was working on new stuff. During a chat with the She’s With The Band podcast via Knotfest, drummer Mercedes Lander and frontwoman Morgan Lander talked about their plans for the future of the bandand an apparent follow-up to their 2011 album I’ve Failed You.
“I’m gonna say that we are just really stoked to write 1,200 percent bangers. I think that’s just where we’re at now. We want people to feel good. We want people to feel what we’re feeling. I feel like bangers; that’s what we’re good at…
“I think people are gonna be really excited when they find out what we’ve been up to.”
Who knows what new Kittie music sounds like in 2023, but whatever it is, it’s very likely to hit you right in the nostalgia.
