Enforced Only Need 90 Seconds to Thrash You Sober with “Casket”

Hard boozin’ and drinking to excess may seem fun when you’re young, but metal’s seen too many instances of people letting it get the best of them. Alcohol addiction is real and Richmond, Virginia’s own Enforced just made a single decrying the dangers of alcoholism in the track “Casket.”

Previously released as part of Decibel‘s Flexi series back in January 2022, the track is a fucking rager. As you’d come to expect from Enforced, it’s straight to the point like a steel-toed boot to the chest. Frontman Colby Knox said the inspiration for the track came from the similar sounds “Cask” and “Casket.”

“It’s about alcohol abuse. Cask – holds alcohol. Casket – holds bodies (I don’t know the etymology, but the synchronicity was there). Death by alcohol abuse seems obvious, on a strictly etymological level. It reflects the stupidity at the point when a person can’t understand right from wrong or real from fake. You’re dead in that moment.”

According to the band, “Casket” serves as a reminder to all of their ability to “blend aggressive soundscapes with profound messaging.”

You can check out the full on visualizer for the track down below or stream it on any of the day’s popular streaming platforms.
