We may not have a new logo or anything like Kerry King, nor have we won any elected office, but we do have a list of this week’s new releases — and that counts for something.

Bleed From Within

Shrine (Deluxe Edition) (Nuclear Blast)

Scottish metalcore act Bleed From Within are double dipping into their 2022 album Shrine with the today’s release of the aforementioned album’s deluxe edition. Announced back in August, this new version of the album includes three bonus tracks, including “The Will To Resist,” which you can check out below. If you missed out on last year’s release, this is a perfect addition to your collection. If not, you can always check out the new tracks via the streaming platform of your choice. Either way, new music is new music.

Gama Bomb

Bats (Prosthetic Records)

These dudes fucking rock — plain and simple. If you’re looking for that special album to infuse some thrash back into your meaningless existence, then buckle up buttercup, because Bats simply shreds from start to finish. You can listen to this bad boy wherever you get your music, or you can check out the Artist Breakdown vocalist Philly Byrne did for us where he lays out what went into each track while you listen to the album. It’s like a director’s commentary track for your eyeballs!

Meshuggah

Chaosphere (25th Anniversary Edition) (Atomic Fire)

You know we just had to include this one. It’s been a quarter of a century since its initial release, but Meshuggah’s Chaosphere still kicks all kinds of ass. This remastered version is not unlike the 15th anniversary edition we got of ObZen, with each track being remastered into high-def audio. So whether you’re new to this one or you’ve worn out three different copies over the years, this one’s definitely worth checking out.

Shylmagoghnar

Convergence (Napalm Records)

The result of one man’s hard work, Shylmagoghnar’s new release Convergence is a 10-song slab of all new atmospheric black metal from the Netherlands. This offering is supposed to be the final part in a trilogy of albums that’s supposed to feel like you’re traveling through time and space. Pick up Emergence and Transience while you’re at it and listen to all three in a row for the full experience.

Vastum

Vastum

Inward to Gethsemane (20 Buck Spin)

This horrific slate of American black metal is here to fill your earholes with what should really feel like the sonic representation of crossing into a black hole’s event horizon. Inward to Gethsemane is cavernous and massive sounding, which just lends to the overall atmosphere on display from the start of the entire album.
