Metallica Shatter Previous Attendance Record at St. Louis Venue
After decades of shows and countless fans in attendance, it’s wild to think that Metallica can still draw a massive crowd to their shows — especially if you consider how much hate they generate online. But here we are with yet another news story about how the Bay Area thrash titans once again broke attendance records at one of their M72 World Tour stops.
Last weekend, Metallica brought down the house at St. Louis’ Dome at America’s Center for two nights. The shows, both taking place on November 3 and 5, apparently attracted more than 100,000 attendees, which made the event the most attended thing going at that venue.
The news came from a post on the band’s official social media pages, where they thanked fans for the continued support.
“The #MetallicaFamily made history during #M72STL. Over 100,000 tickets were sold to our No Repeat Weekend gigs at The Dome, setting the record for most tickets sold for any event since the venue opened in 1995! Thanks for coming out to see us, St. Louis!”
As previously mentioned, this isn’t the first time Metallica’s broken a previously held record, as they brought in a staggering fan count of about 78,000 attendees at the band’s Inglewood, California shows at SoFi Stadium. That amount beat the previously held record set by Taylor Swift.
Naturally, the band’s M72 World Tour is in support of their most recent release, 72 Seasons. Supporting acts include Pantera, Five Finger Death Punch, Mammoth WVH, and Ice Nine Kills. They’ve got a pair of shows this weekend and then they’ll be on a bit of a hiatus until next year, so if you dont want to miss it, be sure to pick up a ticket for one of the dates below:
