Evergrey Share Visualizer for “Recreation Day”
Swedish progressive power metal act Evergrey are gearing up for a very special anniversary next month, as they get set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their album From Dark Discoveries to Heartless Portraits. To get their fans hyped and to give the world a taste of what they’ve got in store for the special occasion, the band released a visualizer for the live version of their track “Recreation Day.”
Recorded in Lyon, France during a performance last year, the track below is just one of 15 special offerings listed on the 30th anniversary release. Slated for release on December 15 via Napalm Records, From Dark Discoveries to Heartless Portraits will feature some particularly juicy morsels, including live versions of songs like “Call Out The Dark” and “Where August Mourns.” It also has classics like “My Allied Ocean,” “A Touch Of Blessing,” “Recreation Day,” and “King Of Errors.” You can even hear piano/vocals only versions of songs like “Save Us” “Call Out The Dark,” “Blindfolded,” and “Midwinter Calls.”
Speaking of “Recreation Day,” the band said the track’s special since it has “stood the test of time,” marveling at the fact that it’s still a fan favorite after all these years.
With the release quickly approaching, the band explained via social media how they personally were involved in putting the special edition together.
“Make sure you get a hold off the limited edition book, as we have worked intensely for months to gather all the photos and write all the stories for each of the albums; it’s an insanely cool product to have and to remember all of these years together with us! Here’s to another 30!“
