Coal Chamber Won’t Be at Hell and Heaven Open Air Thanks to Logistical Problems
There’s a huge festival happening this weekend down in Mexico called Hell & Heaven Open Air and the lineup is admittedly pretty damn stacked. Yet with the festivities kicking off tomorrow, apparent logistical issues are keeping Coal Chamber from entering the country, let alone performing.
The news broke over on the band’s Instagram page, where they claim alleged logistical failures by the festival’s promoter caused Coal Chamber to not be able to board their flights over. Their statement explicitly lays the blame solely on the festival and its organizers, as you can see below:
“Hello everyone, it is with a very heavy heart that due to the festival’s lack of logistics entirely, COAL CHAMBER was forced to not board planes today for HEAVEN & HELL in Mexico ???????? and we will NOT BE PLAYING.”Hello everyone, it is with a very heavy heart that due to the festival’s lack of logistics entirely, COAL CHAMBER was forced to not board planes today for HEAVEN & HELL in Mexico ???????? and we will NOT BE PLAYING.
“Please enjoy the festival and we hope the festival apologizes for any inconvenience they caused to you all…. KNOW that this was NOT the band’s fault whatsoever.”
The band is currently on a reunion run of sorts, having already played a buncha shows since getting back together. Unfortunately, this logistical nightmare isn’t the first of its kind in recent months, as other bands have had to cancel shows and tours due to travel and visa concerns. It’s just an unfortunate circumstance that Coal Chamber got caught up in it this time.
More than 100 bands are currently billed for the three day festival down in Mexico City. Other major acts include Slipknot, Muse, Guns N’ Roses, among so many other acts.
So far there’s been no comment from Hell and Heaven Open Air over Coal Chamber’s sudden absence from the lineup, nor do we know what they’ll do to fill the now empty time on the main Toluca Hell Stage. Once there’s more info, we’ll share.
