Wrath of Logarius Announce New EP Necrotic Assimilation
California black metal weirdos Wrath of Logarius are back with more with a new EP, Necrotic Assimilation, out December 8 via Season of Mist.
Their music is self-described as “formless black metal” and it is eerie, melodic, haunting, and layered. But they aren’t afraid to incorporate other elements, even flirting with brutal death metal and slam in moments.
Speaking of the EP in a press release, the band said their upcoming release was the culmination of them playing around within the black metal subgenre to make something unique.
“‘Necrotic Assimilation’ is the product of blending our favorites aspects of different types of black metal into one band. We are pleased with the outcome and will continue to build on that idea.
“‘The Burning One’ tells a story about an inner dimensional invasion of earth. These unsightly creatures are set to take over the world, infecting everything living with Necrotic Assimilation, a virus that takes over the mind. Hosts are turned into an empty vessel, forced to do the bidding of The Burning One.”
In total, Necrotic Assimilation will feature six new songs from the trio, with each sort of oscillating between black metal, brutal death metal, and occasionally some post-metal for good measure.
