Alkaline Trio Announce New LP and 2024 Tour
For the first time in six years, Alkaline Trio will be putting out a brand new album on Febraury 23 titled Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs. It’s the first new full-length album since Matt Skiba left Blink-182 and it’s the last with their drummer Derek Grant, who walked away from the band earlier this year.
According to Skiba, the new album was based on the concept of “doomscrolling” and how social media’s made shit feel worse over time.
“Without sounding trite, it’s the way that we get our information now through social media. There’s always been good and there’s always been horror, but it feels like the horror hits our doorsteps much quicker these days. It gives people the feeling that things are escalating horribly.”
The new album will be released through Rise Records, making this the band’s first release on a new label after three releases on Epitaph.
In addition to the album announcement, Alkaline Trio unveiled a 2024 tour that will have post-hardcore heroes Drug Church in tow. The tour has been dubbed the ‘Blood, Hair and Eyeballs U.S. tour’, and it kicks off in February in California and ends in March in Nevada.
This run offers the best in old school and new school scremo and post hardcore, so it should be equal parts a lot of fun and a lot of tears.
