Weirdo Nurses Get Handsy with Some Brains in Slipknot’s “Hive Mind” Video
For the last few years or so, Slipknot have been planted firmly in their sort of artsy/weird/experimental phase. The End, So Far wasn’t really your typical Slipknot release and the Adderall EP fell further down that rabbit hole. And with today’s release of the “Hive Mind” music video, the band continue down that weirdly artsy path, albeit with the kind of gory visuals you might expect from a modern death metal band that only had the prop budget for clay heads and jello brains.
Directed by instrumentalist and Slipknot founding member M. Shawn “clown” Crahan, the video below has a particular look about it. And while the last few singles from Slipknot have gone in weird, experimental directions, it’s great that they’re highlighting a more recent track that gets back to its super heavy roots, full of chunky riffs, bombastic drum work, and acerbic vocal delivery you’d come to expect from the band.
This video release comes just days after the announcement that Slipknot would be headlining Sick New World next year in Las Vegas alongside System of a Down. That festival will feature more than 70 bands in total across multiple stages on Saturday, April 27.
The End, So Far is available now wherever you get your music.
