Prong Enter a “State of Emergency” with Latest Single

0

We’re less than 24 hours away from the release of Prong‘s new album State of Emergency, but Tommy Victor and the band opted to drop another piece of (B)East Coast aggression by giving the people another taste with the title track.

Known for their chugging riffs and biting social commentary, Prong has long been a staple of New York City metal. Now, as they get ready to release their 13th studio effort, Victor said this latest track was a great way to remind everyone of the band’s groove-forward tunes.

“The title track ‘State of Emergency’ is a bit of a classic Prong-style groove metal track but heavier. It features the last lyric written for the album. I wanted a song that summarized some of the other lyrics — one that would direct the cover art as well. What we get is this depiction of the Orwellian, dystopian reality we are facing. It’s all rather dark, threatening and heavy!”

As shitty as things look around the world lately, at least artists like Victor will have seemingly endless subjects to write about. Yayyyyyy……..

Speaking of the new album, Victor said both old school fans and newcomers alike will find something to enjoy in State of Emergency.

“It’s a very ‘Prong’ record. I think it’s totally genre-transcending and definitely ignores what’s going on out there these days.

“I like all kinds of music. This record totally reflects that because it covers lots of different angles. At the same time, State Of Emergency is very guitar-oriented and a typical example of my style.”

State of Emergency will be released on October 6, though you can preorder your copy today.
