Baroness’ Worst Show Ever Involved Accidental Splits, Sound Problems in Front of 40,000 People
For a while now, we’ve been talking to bands and asking them to recall the worst shows they’ve ever played and for the most part, we’ve heard of some pretty rough situations. From playing being booked for the absolute wrong audience to relying on a foreign language to smooth over a particularly bad set, we’ve heard some real rough situations, but most of those have taken place in small venues among only a few hundred people at most.
The situation we heard from Baroness‘ Gina Gleason and John Baizley? That shit takes the cake. Like, it’s ‘everything going wrong in front of tens of thousands of people‘ bad. From what they shared during our conversation in Philly’s Queen and Rook Game Cafe not too long ago, it’s the kind of situation where you can either let it get to you or you can brush yourself off and just hope for a better show the next night.
Thankfully, they chose the latter, as they just recently finished a short run of acoustic shows at local record stores and are gearing up for their ‘Sweet Oblivion’ tour. You can find the full list of dates below — hopefully without any major issues.
