Watain Announce Live Album Die in Fire — Live in Hell to Celebrate 25 Years as a Band
Like many of their contemporaries, Swedish black metal outfit Watain is celebrating a major milestone this year with their 25th anniversary. With seven studio albums under their belt and a history of absolutely wild live shows, it only makes sense that the band would mark the occasion with a special live album later this year.
Titled Die In Fire – Live In Hell (Agony And Ecstasy Over Stockholm), the live album features a recording of a show they did back in October 2022 in Stockholm. Recorded by Jamie Elton and mastered by Tore Stjerna at Necromorbus Studio, the live album includes music from throughout the band’s discography, as well as a cover of Bathory’s “The Return of Darkness and Evil.”
To celebrate today’s announcement, the band released the live album’s first single and music video for “Before The Cataclysm (Live In Stockholm 2022).” You can check that out below.
Along with the live album’s release, the band is set to perform two special shows at UKK in Uppsala, Sweden on Friday, November 3 and Saturday November 4. Though the first day sold out in minutes, tickets are still available for the second date.
Die In Fire – Live In Hell (Agony And Ecstasy Over Stockholm) will be released on November 3 via Nuclear Blast, but you can pre-order or pre-save your copy today.
