Corrosion of Conformity Post Killer Stanton Moore Drum Clip, Reveal They’re “Messing Around” in the Studio
We’ve known for a while now that punk outfit turned crossover/stoner/southern metal icons Corrosion of Conformity were heading back into the studio to record their eleventh studio effort and follow up to 2018’s No Cross No Crown. We’ve also known that Galactic drummer Stanton Moore was once again going to be behind the kit, only this time it’s because Reed Mullin passed away.
Posted yesterday, the 16 second clip is all you need to know that Moore’s return to the fold — at least when recording the new album — will make the band’s next output groovy as all hell.
Since the clip is taken inside the actual room that Moore’s playing in, you can’t hear whatever he’s listening to. And while it’s safe to assume that he’s listening to some of the new music in his headphones, we can’t exactly say it with any certainty that’s the case. Funny enough, you can catch a short glimpse of COC’s Mike Dean in the background, so it goes without saying that at least the band’s rhythm section’s out there laying down dope tracks.
If you’ve never heard Corrosion of Conformity’s 2005 release In The Arms of God or you’ve never listened to the eclectic stylings of Galactic, then you sadly have no idea who Stanton Moore is or why his drumming is fucking out of this world. Go remedy that right now — I’ll wait.
