Mayhem Posted a Visualizer for the Live Version of “Chainsaw Gutsf*ck”
There are few bands more important to a heavy metal subgenre than Mayhem is to True Norwegian black metal. So when they set to release a live album documenting the band’s chaotic and destructive performances, you know it’s worth paying attention to what’s coming next.
Today, they posted the visualizer that goes with their live version of “Chainsaw Gutsfuck,” a happy little ditty off the band’s 1987 album Deathcrush. It’s all to preempt the release of Daemonic Rites, a live album set to be released on September 15.
The band is calling Daemonic Rites a comprehensive look at their live efforts around the world over the last couple years. It’s being described by Mayhem as a live album that “promises to be a thrilling sonic journey for fans and a testament to Mayhem’s unparalleled live prowess.”
As Necroburtcher has previously said about Daemonic Rites:
“We wanted to document how great the band and set sounds like after almost 40 years of playing live. As a treat to our fans, we decided to release this live recording.
“I knew from day one back in 1984 that this band was going to be outstanding—one of the best bands ever! I guess that’s a big reason why we still are here after 39 years—and counting.”
Daemonic Rites will be released on September 15 via Century Media, though you can preorder your copy today. You can also check the band out live starting next month with Cannibal Corpse, Gorguts, and Blood Incantation at any of the dates listed below.
