Gus G. Hopes Ozzy Osbourne “Can Get Back On Track” Despite Ongoing Health Issues
It’s hard to imagine a world where Ozzy Osbourne isn’t able to continue playing shows around the world, but that briefly became a reality earlier this year when he announced he could no longer tour before saying he was going to do everything he could to return to the stage. It was a sobering realization that metal’s biggest icons from the early days are getting up there in age and like everyone else on this planet, will eventually shuffle off this mortal coil.
That being said, Ozzy was right when he said he was “fu*king not dying” just yet. So in a recent interview with Rat Salad Review, Gus G. said he was hopeful his former bandmate would be able to heal up and get back on stage soon.
“I hope he can get back on track. I don’t think he’s gonna be able to tour again on the scale that he used to, but at least he can do a couple of nice farewell shows, at least a couple of one-offs. I think he would really like that. And I think he will, because he’s the ‘iron man.’ I don’t think you can take him off stage that easily. [Laughs]”
Gus G. was Ozzy’s guitarist from 2009 to 2017, so he’s got a good amount of time performing with the “Prince of Darkness.” Over the last couple years, Ozzy’s ability to tour has been spotty at best, due to lingering health issues stemming from a spinal injury he suffered back in the early 2000s. Since then, it’s grown to affect his mobility, among other aspects of his life, as he’s said he’s in near constant pain.
As an outlet, we at MetalSucks agree with Gus G. on this one. Here’s hoping Ozzy gets better soon so he can kick ass on stage yet again.
