Van Hagar to Get Its Due with Van Halen – The Collection II Box Set

It’s the kind of question that friendships are build and destroyed upon. Which do you prefer: Megadeth or Metallica; Beatles or The Rolling Stones; Van Halen or Van Hagar? Today, that last one is particularly important as fans of the Van Halen iteration that featured Sammy Hagar on vocals will soon be able to get their hands on a special box set created just for them.

Van Halen — The Collection II is a special collection of five LPs featuring Sammy Hagar front and center. Set for release on October 6 via Rhino Entertainment, the box set will include all of the LPs from 1986 to 1995. For those keeping score, that means this bundle will come with 5150, OU812, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, and Balance.

The set will also feature a fifth LP full of rarities titled… well… Studio Rarities. Included in this version will be eight previously unheard songs from that time.

In total, the set will feature remastered versions of each LP, all done up by the band’s longtime engineer Donn Landee.
