Anthrax’s Not Man and Iron Maiden’s Eddie Join Forces in a Special Mobile Game Event
Starting today in Iron Maiden‘s free-to-play mobile game Legacy of the Beast, the legendary band of Brits’ mascot Eddie will team up with Anthrax‘s Not Man for a special blend of New York brutality. The team up will be part of the game’s latest event, aptly titled Among The Living.
Inspired by the Big Four member’s recent graphic novel of the same name, the Among The Living dungeon event will take players through the destroyed streets of New York City for the next week. Throughout the event, Not Man is out for vengeance against hte forces that destroyed his hometown.
According to the game’s developers, this special event is ripped straight out of the lyrics and themes found in Anthrax’s extensive discography. As for Anthrax’s involvement, the band said they were excited to team up with Iron Maiden, having all been life-long fans since they were teens.
“We couldn’t be happier to be featured in this game. When the idea came up, we were completely taken aback by it, like, ‘are you serious?’ You have Eddie, one of the greatest mascots of all time, and the Not-Man. When you see the Not Man’s face, you identify it with Anthrax. The same with Eddie and Iron Maiden – it doesn’t have to SAY ‘Iron Maiden,’ it doesn’t have to SAY ‘Anthrax,’ you just put those two faces up and you KNOW it’s Anthrax and Iron Maiden. Eddie and the Not-Man together, it’s like Batman and Robin, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy, peanut butter and jelly, it’s just the greatest, and we’re so happy to be part of it. The game kicks ass, and we think people are going to be so happy with it – we can’t wait for it to come out.”
This isn’t the first time the game’s incorporated other bands’ mascots. In the past, Eddie has teamed up with mascots from Motörhead, Disturbed, and Five Finger Death Punch.
The Anthrax Among The Living event will kick off later today at 5 p.m. If you want to get involved and play for yourself, you can download the game on the Apple App Store or Google Play today.
