Cryptopsy Announce Their First Album Since 2012, Sign with Nuclear Blast Records
Canadian death metal outfit Cryptopsy are back with their first album in over a decade and they’re putting it out on their new home, Nuclear Blast Records.
Considered one of the more brutal bands hailing from the Great White North, Cryptopsy haven’t put a new studio release since the band’s 2012 self-titled album. In the years since they’ve put out some EPs and a couple compilations, but the newly announced album will be all brand new material.
Though details like the album’s proposed title and release date are still unknown at this point, vocalist Matt McGachy said he and his bandmates were stoked to shepherd the band into its next era.
“We are truly excited to have joined Nuclear Blast’s roster. Many of the bands we love and a bunch of our friends have released killer albums via Nuclear Blast. Back in 2012, we became an independent band. Now in 2023, we have decided to team up with one of the most influential metal labels. We are eager to be showcased alongside the world’s best metal acts and can’t wait to unveil the next era of Cryptopsy as a Nuclear Blast artist.”
As we get more information about the upcoming album, as well as the inevitable tour dates and other news that goes along with a new album release, we’ll be sure to keep you up to date.
