Between the Buried and Me Guitarist Dustie Waring Accused of Raping, Impregnating Fan

An unnamed woman has come forth with allegations that Between The Buried And Me/Glass Casket guitarist Dustie Waring raped her in a bar bathroom roughly five years ago. She claims the alleged incident took place after a concert and resulted in an unwanted pregnancy that she ultimately had terminated.
Using a throwaway Reddit account, the woman posted a lengthy retelling of what she remembers happened that day. She said this was her first time going public with this after years of feeling “too scared to come forward and speak my truth.” Though she admitted that she’d been drinking pretty heavily prior to the show, she said she was able to piece together what happened from friends who were there, as well as Waring himself.
“Dustie Waring, a monster who is 12 years my senior, raped and impregnated me.
“If you know who I am, please, don’t let my identity get out. I’m so scared.
“I’ve been telling myself that there will be more victims if I don’t come forward. I’ve been blaming myself for what happened. I felt like I could have done more to prevent it, but I know I couldn’t have. It wasn’t my fault. I’m sick and tired of blaming myself. It wasn’t my fault. It was Dustie Waring’s.
“The only results I want going forward is getting closure and also to create a safe space for other potential victims to come forward if they unfortunately exist.”
According to her post, which we will have in its entirety below, the situation began after she’d already been drinking for a while throughout the day. Following the concert, she was hanging out with some friends in a nearby bar when Waring allegedly showed up for a drink. As any fan would do, she said she went up to the guitarist and introduced herself, saying she appreciated his music.
What happened next, she alleged, was a conscious effort by Waring to get her even more inebriated than she already was. It was around this time she says her personal recollection of the night begins to fade, as he kept buying her shots and kissing her at the bar. Then she says she remembers waking up at home with bruises on her hips and wrists, in addition to feeling some vaginal pain.
She then said she learned from a friend that they had gotten into an altercation with Waring for pushing more alcohol on the woman and trying to take advantage of her. After leaving the area to cool off, the friend allegedly told the woman that the two of them were nowhere to be seen until they found the alleged victim in a state where she “could barely stand up or string a sentence together.” They then went home.
After learning about all that, the woman said she reached out to Waring via text message and confirmed all of the details, as well as the penetrative sex that happened amid his insistence to “live a little.” Weeks later, she learned she was pregnant and then decided to terminate it.
In the years since, the woman says she’s gone through therapy and has been diagnosed with PTSD following the incident.
“It took me a few months to truly process and understand what happened. I was a huge BTBAM fan and I respected Dustie so much. I just wanted to meet one of my idols and he saw that as an opportunity to ensure I was blackout drunk, and completely take advantage of me. I’ve blamed myself for so long. I’m tired of this haunting me. It nearly killed me. I appreciate anyone who has read this far – if there are any other victims, please know that it is not your fault.”
While these allegations aren’t to be taken lightly, it’s important to note that these are still allegations at the moment.
We reached out to representatives for Between The Buried And Me, Glass Casket, and Dustie Waring himself to get a comment on the matter. At the request of his legal representation, we received the following statement:
