Dieth Make a Case for Vengeance in Their Latest Single “Don’t Get Mad…Get Even!”
With a new album coming this June, ex-Megadeth bassist David Ellefson‘s death/thrash band Dieth are back with a new single to hype up the release of To Hell And Back. While the track’s title “Don’t Get Mad … Get Even!” sounds like something someone would mumble to themselves in a mirror after getting unfairly kicked out of a massive thrash metal band, it’s a pretty badass track in its own right.
As you’ll hear in the single’s accompanying music video below, the song pretty much drives forward at a respectable pace from the get-go and features a part you just know fans will chant in a live setting. As the band’s third single following “To Hell And Back” and
Speaking on the track’s main conceit, Ellefson said “Don’t Get Mad … Get Even!” has a self-improvement message that urges people to rise up from adversity and surpass those that wrong you. I wonder if he’s talking about anyone in general..
“The best revenge is being better than you were before. ‘Don’t Get Mad … Get Even!’ is about the champion inside us that helps overcome and rise above the challenges. Don’t get bitter… get better!”
Ellefson was kicked out of Megadeth following a sex scandal in which the bassist was caught having explicit conversations with a woman who wasn’t his wife. His eventual ousting from Megadeth paved the way for Dieth and all the other projects he’s got going on.
Along with Ellefson, Dieth is comprised of ex-Entombed A.D.’s Guilherme Miranda on guitar/vocals and ex-Decapitated drummer Michał Łysejko.
Dieth has since signed on to Napalm Records and their first album To Hell And Back is set for a June 2 release, though you can preorder your copy today.
