Cavalera to Re-Record Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions After Joining Nuclear Blast

Iggor and Max Cavalera apparently don’t stop for shit. After touring all last fall as the band Cavalera and playing classic tracks from Beneath The Remains and Arise, they’ve signed on to Nuclear Blast and committed to re-recording two releases from Sepultura’s discography.

According to the announcement, the brothers will be taking another crack at their old band’s first EP Bestial Devastation (1985) and the first LP Morbid Visions.

Max said the reason behind tackling both of those releases was to revisit “where it all started” by modernizing a sound that’s more than 30 years old at this point.

“As we get harder year after year, sometimes you’ve got to go back to where it all started! We re-recorded Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions with the amazing sound of NOW, but with its raw and timeless spirit. The artwork reflects the times we’re living in right now…. Apocalyptic as hell! We also have two new tracks with riffs from those days, remembered by heart.”

As for Iggor, the chance to go back to the birthplace of his career was far too tempting to not go for it.

“I always felt like the recordings of our earlier work didn’t do justice to the way we performed the songs. So, this is a very special moment in our lives that we are very proud to show you real fans our true representation of the amazing records Bestial Devastation & Morbid Visions with an insane visual identity…enjoy and see you all in the pit”

Both albums were re-recorded at The Platinum Underground and were produced by the Cavalera brothers with assistance from John Aquilino.

There’s no date for when either re-recorded offering will be available, but you can check out the art and pre-save them both on your favorite music streaming service.

In addition to the pair of re-recorded efforts, the band announced that they’re going back on tour this fall to support the two releases.
