Power Trip Festival to Host Six Massive Headliners — And That’s It
This is wild. After roughly a day of teasers and rumors about who’ll be playing the Power Trip festival, we now know and it’s bananas. Not only are there some of the world’s biggest rock and metal bands on the bill, but that’s all they got. Six bands. Three nights.
Here’s the breakdown:
- Guns N’ Roses and Iron Maiden on October 6
- AC/DC and Ozzy Osbourne on October 7
- Metallica and Tool on October 8
If you’re looking to go for all three nights, it’s gonna set you back $599, which honestly doesn’t seem that bad given how huge those bands are. Given the fact that this show is also taking place at the same location where Coachella occurs every year, it’s no surprise that organizers are also offering car and tent camping packages, along with ready-to-go two person lodge or four-person tents, RV spots and more. For the less outdoorsy types, there are hotel packages that start at around $3,199.
It’s particularly interesting/awesome to see Ozzy back in the mix. Though he’s already said he’s not really done, he did kinda say his touring days are over. While speaking with Piers Morgan on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Sharon Osbourne revealed that Ozzy was playing the festival.
“”He’s good. He’s doing so much better. I think I told you about it the other night, but now it’s been announced – we can talk about it. He’s doing a show October 6 in America. It’s at the Coachella site. It’s gonna be a great show: Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, AC/DC, Ozzy…
“He never stopped. He’s back.”
AC/DC will also make their return after being pretty much radio silent since last September. The most information we got from the band about their future was an interview vocalist Brian Johnson did with Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk. At the time, he said he couldn’t comment on whether the band would get back together anytime soon or not, stating that it wouldn’t be fair for one guy to make that announcement for a band of five musicians and he was told not to say anything because it’s “the official line.”
So what do you guys think? Will you be making the trip to Indio, California for the inaugural Power Trip Festival?
