Will Ramos Dropped Some Clean Vocals in His Cover of Sleep Token’s “Chokehold”
In a move that combines two of the fastest growing things in metal right now, Lorna Shore frontman Will Ramos recently posted a YouTube video showcasing his cover of Sleep Token‘s massive hit “Chokehold.”
According to Ramos, who’s probably either busy gearing up for Lorna Shore’s upcoming headlining tour (and their tour with Gojira and Mastodon) or working on Project: Vengeance tracks, the inspiration for working on the cover in the first place stemmed from his anticipation for Sleep Token’s forthcoming album Take Me Back To Eden.
“Sleep Token is putting out their new album on May 19 and I am absolutely loving it so far. Vessel’s voice is right in my range so I figured I’d keep dropping covers!!
“On that note, I hope you enjoy my cover of Sleep Token’s new song Chokehold! I had one of my good friends, Peter, record one of the angles so be nice! Some of the video got off-time while rendering but it is what it is!”
We don’t get to hear Ramos’ clean vocals too much, so it’s great to hear his talents in this cover. Sure, clean vocals probably wouldn’t fit at all in a Lorna Shore track, but here he really gets to open things up and showcase what he’s capable of. If it wasn’t obvious before, Ramos has pipes.
Sleep Token’s Take Me Back To Eden will be out on May 19 via Spinefarm. As for Lorna Shore, they’ve got a ridiculous number of shows coming up this spring. You can check out those dates below the video.
