Cradle of Filth’s New Track “She is a Fire” Smolders, First Live Album in Two Decades Coming Next Month

Extreme gothic metal titans Cradle of Filth haven’t announced their follow up to 2021’s Existence Is Futile just yet, but that’s not stopping them from dropping a burner of a new track and accompanying music video for “She is a Fire.”

Released earlier today via Napalm Records, vocalist Dani Filth said the track — along with “Demon Prince Regent” — was among the first new pieces of music the band worked on after finishing their last studio effort and signing with Napalm Records.

“This track and the other original track on this album, ‘Demon Prince Regent’, were both written after the recording of Existence Is Futile and present a perfect, but not necessarily related, bridge between our Nuclear Blast days and the forthcoming album on Napalm Records. It was always intended to be a double album, so we just thought, ‘f**k it! Let’s cram some original material on there as well! The absolute worst of both worlds!

“The song itself is about the epitome of burning passion; the dark inspiration of love and the creature that has ignited it.”

And while fans wait for the next studio effort, the band announced that they’ll be putting out their first new live album in 20 years. Titled “Trouble and Their Double Lives,” the live album features recordings from shows captured between 2014 and 2019 at stops around the world during their “Cryptoriana World Tour.”

Filth said the band will release their first Napalm Records album next year, so the wait will continue. Still, the release of a new live album was a long time coming, he said, especially given how many shows they’ve played over the years.

“I would say a live record was long overdue, judging by the 20-odd year gap between this and our previous offering! It also serves as a great accompaniment to the forthcoming co-headlining ‘Double Trouble Live’ tour(s) with Devildriver, and strangely enough is also a notable gap-filler whilst we prepare our debut album for Napalm Records, due for mass excretion in 2024.”

Trouble And Their Double Lives will release via Napalm Records on April 28 and will feature tracks like “Bathory Aria” and “Blackest Magick in Practice.”
