Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler will Release Autobiography this Summer
This summer, Black Sabbath fans will have a new piece of lore to look forward to from bassist Geezer Butler.
On June 8, he will officially unveil Into The Void – From Birth to Black Sabbath – and Beyond via HarperCollins. The book starts with his early childhood in Birmingham and traces his career with the band up to modern times. The publisher says:
“With over 70 million records sold, heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath are one of the most influential bands of all time. From the very beginning, Geezer Butler was at the heart of their success. He named the group, provided the bass behind their distinctive sound, and wrote the lyrics that resonated so powerfully with fans around the world.”
In addition to his iconic career and rough childhood, the book details how Butler almost became an accountant, his lifelong love affair with horror and the occult, and his career with Black Sabbath.
Into the Void will be the third memoir written by a member of Black Sabbath’s original lineup. Ozzy Osbourne’s I Am Ozzy was published in 2009, and Tony Iommi’s Iron Man: My Journey through Heaven and Hell with Black Sabbath was published in 2011.
