Haste The Day Are Reuniting to Play Furnace Fest
Who knows what it is about Furnace Fest that makes long-defunct bands set aside their differences and come back together to get on their stage, but they’ve landed yet another reunion set for this year’s show. Last year, we saw the return of Shadows Fall at the festival, this past December we learned that It Dies Today was coming back to participate in this year’s two-day festival, and now Haste The Day are picking it up once again for this year’s fest.
The Christian metalcore outfit with a penchant for Kickstarter campaigns hung it up back in 2016 and we hadn’t heard anything back since. This reunion is their second time trying to start things back up after a long hiatus, as their initial run as a band went from 2001 to 2011 and then they reunited for two years from 2014 to 2016.
In their announcement on social media, the band said this won’t be a one-off reunion set either, stating that “there is more to come and we are so humbled and honored by the opportunity and the excitement.”
As mentioned earlier, this isn’t the only reunion set slated for Furnace Fest this year. Somehow, organizers managed to get Head Automatica, A Plea For Purging, and Training For Utopia to reunite and follow suit with It Dies Today and Haste The Day.
Furnace Fest is once again going to take place at the Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, Alabama. This year’s fest will take place on September 23 and 24.
In the past, Furnace Fest has hosted a wide range of bands, from New Found Glory to In Flames and everything in between. This year’s bill looks to be no different, as the Furnace Fest proper will have the following bands perform:

A pre-show “Shed Bash” is also planned to take place the day before Furnace Fest kicks off, which will also take place at the Sloss Furnaces. That show will feature Hatebreed, Norma Jean, Walls Of Jericho, Gideon, Vein.fm, With Blood Comes Cleansing, With Honor, Orthodox, Slow Pulse, and No Cure.
Regardless, this year’s Furnace Fest looks like a killer time. If you agree and need to attend, you can pick up tickets right now.
