Hardcore Band Zulu Feature Eric Andre in Video for “Where I’m From”
Los Angeles hardcore/powerviolence crew Zulu are about to turn heads in 2023. After a stellar pair of EPs and a few successful tours, the band are almost ready for their debut full-length, A New Tomorrow. Coming out later this year, the record combines heavy hardcore and classic powerviolence with a variety of other influences, both heavy and not.
Some of those influences are on display with the video for “Where I’m From,” the latest single from A New Tomorrow. Inspired by A Tribe Called Quest’s video for “Scenario,” the visual underscores the fact that Zulu are always having fun, even when they’re serving total assbeaters.
In addition to an appearance from comedian Eric Andre in the video, Zulu also Soul Glo’s Pierce Jordan and Playytime’s Obioma Ugonna for guest vocal spots. Check the video below. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to catch Zulu on the road this year when they tour with Show Me the Body, Jesus Piece and more. A New Tomorrow is out March 3 on Flatspot.
