Bam Margera’s Home and Recovering After Hospital Stay

0

Last week, it was reported that “Jackass” star and popular skateboarder Bam Margera had been hospitalized and put on a ventilator while dealing with pneumonia and COVID. Given all of his previous health and addiction problems, plenty of people online were ready for the worst news to follow.

But two days ago, Margera himself took to social media to calm people’s fears and update everyone on his condition, offering a quick message of thanks in the process.

“I’m out!

“Thank you to my friends, family and you for the love, support and prayers.”

If you’ve ever spent an extended period of time in the hospital, you know the kind of feeling he’s expressing in that post. At the time, he was being treated in an ICU but remained in stable condition as medical personnel monitored his condition.

Now that he’s out and recovering from COVID, it’s important that he get the help he needs for his demons. He’d reached a year of sobriety earlier this year, but has been seen partying in Vegas and Atlanta in recent months. It just seems like each step forward is met with two steps back, which if you’ve dealt with anyone battling addiction, you know is pretty commonplace.

While we can’t imagine how difficult it must be to battle drug and/or alcohol addiction, we empathize with Bam and his friends and family. It’s a difficult road ahead, but we wish nothing but the best for Margera going into the new year.

If you, or someone you know is struggling with addiction, please call the SAMHSA National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357.
