Municipal Waste Drummer Dave Witte’s Stage Diving Mom is Cooler Than Your Mom

0

Mothers are wonderful, magnificent human beings who put up with a lot our shit. If you’ve got a good relationship with your mom, then she’s probably supported your hobbies, pushed you to chase your dreams, and in the case of Municipal Waste drummer Dave Witte, a mother is there to throw down at a gig.

During their December 6 show at the House of Independents in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Municipal Waste were doing what they do best — tear shit up and give fans the backing track they need to let it all out in the pit. Things were progressing as planned until the unexpected happened and Witte’s mom gets up on stage with the band and starts dancing along. It’s a funny moment that’s prompted by another woman on the side of the stage telling her to go out there, probably for the ‘Gram or something.

And then the moment happens. After watching some fans hop up on stage and then hurl themselves into the crowd, Witte’s mom does the same. With the kind of reckless abandon you wouldn’t expect from a woman in her seventies, she stage dives headfirst into the crowd, causing the audience to cheer in excitement and frontman Tony Foresta to laugh and temporarily lose his place in the song.

Thankfully, Mind Decay Productions was on hand to document the whole thing and post it on Instagram. You can check out the footage below and revel in the fact that no matter how old you get, you can always support your family by throwing caution to the wind and stage diving like you’re a teenager again.

Municipal Waste are currently on a co-headlining tour with High On Fire to close out the year. There are only a few dates let, so you should absolutely head out to the show if they’re in your area.
