Nightwish Are the First Confirmed Band for 70,000 Tons of Metal Cruise
Autumn rocks, but the moment we’re talkin’ 30 degrees and below with chances of snow here on the east coast, it’s the fucking worst. That’s why for the 3,000 people lucky/wealthy enough to vacation aboard this year’s 70,000 Tons of Metal will be doin’ it right — especially now that we know the first band embarking on the trip.
Earlier today, it was announced that the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish will take to the high seas as one of 60 bands to perform on the ship. Vocalist Floor Jansen should have hopefully completely recovered from her breast cancer diagnosis by then, so the band’s expected to be firing on all cylinders by the time they hit the stage on the 154,000 ton cruise ship.
Taking place from January 30 to February 3, 2023, the Freedom of the Seas will go from Miami, Florida to Bimini, The Bahamas. Over the course of that trip, metalheads will get to rub elbows with rock stars, attend all kinds of kick as concerts, participate in fun group activities, and visit various locations along the way.
With this being the 11th iteration of the massive heavy metal cruise, it’s expected that everything will be smooth sailing for everyone in attendance and performing. If you want to know more, or to secure a cabin of your own, be sure to visit the 70,000 Tons of Metal website.
