Fallujah Get Trippy with Visualizer for “Mindless Omnipotent Master”
Bay Area atmospheric, technical death metal powerhouse Fallujah just dropped their fifth studio album, Empyrean, via Nuclear Blast, as well as a visualizer for the song “Mindless Omnipotent Master.”
As you can see, the visualizer is as trippy and compelling as the music is technical and melodic—and that’s saying a lot.
On this new record, the band break new ground, getting epic and atmospheric as well as technical and catchy as hell, keeping us entertained and forging their own path in the death metal world.
Songwriter and guitarist Scott Carstairs says the song deals with the world’s current obsession with technology and that obsession’s effect on society as a whole.
“’Mindless Omnipotent Master’ is about the massive, globally-linked systems of technology and society that were created for humankind’s own benefit, but have now grown into self-sustained forces beyond our control. The music sets an appropriately dark tone with four minutes of relentlessly brutal riffs and mechanically sharp precision.”
With Empyrean out yesterday, Carstairs says he’s proud of the effort that went into the album and its release.
“It feels surreal to finally share our new album Empyrean with the world! We can hardly describe the amount of effort, determination and patience it took to arrive at this point, but now that the day is here we can finally say that everything was worth it.
“Special shoutouts to the fans who have stuck with us for all these years. We hope Empyrean can take you on an immersive journey with enough detail to warrant many repeated listens.”
The record is out now, and fans are stoked on access to the full, glorious album, as well as an extensive tour.
“From the beginning of this writing process and until the end, we painstakingly made sure every aspect of this record would blow away our listeners. We meticulously scrutinized every riff and note choice. There has never been this much effort put into a Fallujah record as we did with ‘Empyrean,’ and the result is a truly monstrous record that we believe is the band’s best work by a significant margin. Fallujah will kick off “The Divine Ascension Tour” next week with Australian tech-death co-headliners Psycroptic in support the new record. Additional support will be provided by Interloper and Cognitive. Tickets are available now.
