Dream Unending’s Has a New Album Coming and Track “Secret Grief” is the Kind of Atmospheric Doom You Can Expect

0

Nearly a year after their debut record hit, Dream Unending is putting out yet another studio album and its first single, “Secret Grief” is available today.

Comprised of Derrick Vella (Tomb Mold) and Justin DeTore (Innumerable Forms/Summerlands), Dream Unending made its mark last year with the trippy yet dark sounds of Tide Turns Eternal. From what we can hear in the track below, the duo is looking to continue that trend with Song of Salvation.

Vella said the new song is the most approachable song for newcomers, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less trippy or atmospheric in nature.

“’Secret Grief’ feels like the most direct song on the album. It’s still got this otherworldly feel, or slightly out of a different time. Its got this hotel bar ballad feel, very plaintive. Phil really came through with his vocal offering, almost a wail at times. Leila’s trumpet is like a siren, it came out greater than I could have ever imagined. It’s a real pleasure to know such talented people that would be happy to place a role on this. Love the King’s X vibe on the riff before the solo comes in. Justin’s drumming is so strong, lots of conviction.”

Dream Unending will release on November 11, but is currently available for preorder via 20 Buck Spin.
