Helmet Cancel Previously Postponed Shows

0

Long-running alternative metal band Helmet was forced to make an unfortunate announcement yesterday, as they’ve been forced to cancel a slate of previously postponed shows due to continued logistical problems.

In a post on their Facebook page, the band said the cancellations were “disappointing,” stating that current ticket holders should seek refunds from their ticket vendor.

“This post is in regards to the POSTPONED JUNE HEADLINE DATES ONLY

“Disappointing news…..We’ve been trying for a while to re-schedule the US shows cancelled in June due to Covid but it’s still proving logistically impossible. Regrettably we have to cancel the run outright and we ask that any ticket buyers direct requests for refunds to your point of purchase.

“Apologies for this, hopefully at some point in 2023 we might make it back into some of these places.

As always, thanks to everybody for your support and patience.”

This isn’t the first tour to be hit with the dreaded “logistical problems” that lead to cancellations. Earlier this month, Moonspell had to cancel their planned North American tour with Swallow the Sun and Witherfall.

Though they never say what actually constitutes logistical problems, you can probably guess that high fuel costs, expensive shipping fees, and the overall state of the economy and inflation have to play a huge role in these cancellations. Hopefully things begin to level out, because if they don’t, we could see more problems crop up with touring bands.
