Phil Anselmo Says Lemmy Was “Forever” in Recent Interview

There are few people in the rock and metal world that deserve as much idol worship as the late, great Lemmy Kilmister. Dude was legendary for a while list of reasons, from the massive wall of sound he and Motörhead would create live to the larger than life persona he maintained for more than half a century.

In a recent interview posted by Banger.TV, Pantera vocalist Phil Anselmo extolled the man that was Lemmy, as transcribed by Blabbermouth.

“The first thing that attracted me to Motörhead was Lemmy Kilmister and the sound of his voice. And then it was solidified… In 1985, I went to a show outside New Orleans, Louisiana, and it was Agnostic Front and Motörhead. It was a wall of crushing sound and they were just incredible; they sounded great. Lemmy was so long lasting and impressionable, man, on me. He’s forever, and I love him.”

This isn’t the first video showcasing metal icons praising the life and times of Lemmy. Just last week, Gary Holt of Exodus swore he was convinced at one point that there had to be multiple Lemmys making their way through the bars of London.

These interviews are all part of a promotional effort to showcase a Motörhead tribute album for Psycho Las Vegas’s in-house record label Psycho Waxx, In it, bands like Eyehategod, Mothership, and Exhorder play classic Motörhead tunes to pay their respects to the legendary bassist/singer.
