The Hu Announce New Album, Drop Brooding First Single via Epic Music Video
As a metal writer, you use ‘epic’ a lot, and usually that just means ‘cinematic’ or ‘impressive.’ But Mongolian folk metallers The Hu are most certainly epic proper, believably channeling themes of ancient Mongolia in with gut-punching tracks. Now, the band have announced their new album, and have released the first single via a music video — and believe me when I say, this shit is epic.
The Hu’s new album will be called Rumble of Thunder, and drops September 2nd via Better Noise Music; the album is available for preorder. The first single, “Black Thunder,” is a powerful, brooding song, and arrives via an incredibly cinematic multi-part music video saga.
According to vocalist Gala:
“’Black Thunder’ is the crown jewel of our second album. The music video is split into two parts and conveys the core values of men through visuals. Our producer Dashka chose a unique location in Mongolia to shoot the video, where we had a great time riding the horses in the vast grassland of our countryside.”
