Guns N’ Roses Cancel Tonight’s Show In Glasgow Due to “Illness and Medical Advice”
Man, it’s been a tough couple of weeks for Guns N’ Roses. First, the band go viral when frontman Axl Rose has a disastrous festival performance in which he sounds like Herbert the Pervert from Family Guy. Now, it’s been revealed that the band have been forced to cancel their Glasgow gig over medical issues.
Guns N’ Roses posted the following message to all of their social media accounts:
“Sadly, due to illness and medical advice, GN’R will not be able to perform in Glasgow, tomorrow 5-July-2022. We are working on rescheduling options for this show so please hold onto your tickets and wait for a further update. We appreciate your understanding and patience.”
Interesting. The mind goes two ways: one is COVID, which seems obvious, but actually doesn’t quite make sense here, because if the band had COVID, why wouldn’t they just say it? A positive COVID diagnosis is sort of a get-out-of-performing-free card; if you or a member of your crew gets COVID, you can’t play. Done and done.
The other is whatever caused Axl to sound so crappy the other day, and that makes a little more sense. Of course the band wouldn’t want to broadcast that there’s something up with Axl’s voice, and we’re sure the fact that the video went viral isn’t one they’re overjoyed about.
That said, it would have to be some serious issue if they’re canceling shows over it.
All of this is just ideation, of course — we know nothing about what’s actually going on in the G’N’R camp. Meanwhile, whatever IS going on with those dudes, we wish them a full and speedy recovery, and hope they get back onstage as quickly as possible.
We’ll let you know if the “illness and medical advice” comes to light any time in the near future.
