Lorna Shore’s New Single Sounds Like a Cathedral Being Summoned Out of the F***ing Ground

0

In the words of disgraced fashion designer Mugatu, Lorna Shore are so hot right now. The New Jersey deathcore crew have wowed audiences with their mixture of whirling technicality and grand cinematic sweep, drawing in fans from all corners of the underground. Now, Lorna Shore have dropped another new single, and guess what, it’s basically the sound of an obsidian church being called up out of the soil itself.

What’s impressive about “Into the Earth,” the band’s new single, is similar to what made their previous single “Sun//Eater” so epic and exciting: their ability to combine frantic deathcore with symphonic flourishes. While vocalist Will Ramos is undeniably awesome with his many different flavors of gurgle and shriek, it’s the way that the band temper their sound with these gigantic synth and choral accents that puts our collective hand to our forehead. It makes one understand how bands like Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir influenced future generations, though Lorna Shore certainly give those bands’ synths a hard kick in the vinyl pants.

Listen to “Into the Earth” below; the video premieres later today, so set your reminder at the link below. The band’s new album Pain Remains is currently scheduled for October. Meanwhile, catch Lorna Shore at one of their upcoming live dates listed below.
