In Flames Drop New Single, Announce North American Tour with Fit For An Autopsy, Orbit Culture, and Vended
Been a hot second since we had anything from Swedish melodic death metallers In Flames. But now, the band have returned with big news — a killer new single, and a big ol’ North American tour.
The band’s new song, “State of Slow Decay,” which comes with news that they’ve re-signed their deal with Nuclear Blast, is definitely more old-school and traditional than many contemporary listeners might expect from In Flames. There isn’t the typical big, singalong chorus here, even if there are some clean vocals and shimmery bits here and there. Overall, fans of these guys’ older stuff will definitely get a kick out of this.
Says frontman Anders Fridén:
“We have always done our own thing without any pressure from the outside world, BUT being back with Nuclear Blast worldwide has for sure inspired us to write a host of new material that includes the past, the present, and the future. ‘State of Slow Decay’ includes everything that In Flames are known for. But it’s more than just a song, it’s a fucking statement. I couldn’t be happier to release this as a taste of what’s to come.”
Meanwhile, the band have also announced a big ol’ North American tour, with Fit For An Autopsy, Orbit Culture, and Vended supporting them. Ticketing news is forthcoming, but make sure you save one of the following dates, and scroll down all the way for the new track’s music video.
