Municipal Waste Drop Fun-As-F*** New Single “High Speed Steel”
Last month, it was announced that Richmond beer-mongers Municipal Waste would be releasing a new album with one of the coolest covers of all time. Now, the band have dropped a new single from that record, and surprise surprise, it’s boss.
Municipal Waste’s new single, “High Speed Steel,” is a fan song of sorts, ostensibly about the experience of going to a thrash metal show. Then again, every Municipal Waste song is sort of about that, except for the ones about radioactive wolves or space slime. And like all those songs, this one’s a fucking rager. So hey, what’s not to like?
According to guitarist Ryan Waste:
“High Speed Steel is our ode to an era when heavy metal was transitioning into a faster form. We pushed the limits of our sound to channel that classic dynamic and keep the intensity high. It’s about overcoming the pressure and slicing down the odds when everything is stacked against you.”
Right on.
