Tattoo The Earth Returns As a One-Day Festival, with Anthrax, Hatebreed, At The Gates and More!
To break the fourth wall a bit: the 2000 Tattoo The Earth festival might have been the most important concert experience of my teen years. Me and my three friends caught the tour during its stop in Scranton, PA, where we got to see such sights as: Mudvayne in full facepaint before anyone knew who they were, downset absolutely killing it live, that dude with all of the members of Slipknot tattooed on his back, my first real-life skinheads, Lajon from Sevendust jumping offstage to confront those same skinheads, and my first Slayer pit. It was fucking nuts, and continues to amaze me as a memory. So I’m stoked to learn that Tattoo The Earth is coming back, albeit as a one-day festival.
As reported by Loudwire, Tattoo The Earth 2022 goes down Saturday, August 27th, at the Palladium Outdoors in Worcester, MA. So far, the line-up includes the following bands:
More bands are to be announced, and once more, the festival will feature to ‘Body Art Village,’ meaning a tent-city of tattoo parlors slinging ink and piercings.
Says festival founder Scott Alderman, who recently published his true-life story of the festival Caravan of Pain:
“When I wrote ‘Caravan of Pain: The True Story of the Tattoo The Earth Tour,’ I never imagined it would bring the show back to life. Doing the show with the original promoter, Mass Concerts, and having Hatebreed on the bill, who were one of the 2000 tour breakout bands, is going to make for an amazing event.”
Tickets for the festival are available for purchase this Friday, 10am, via the show’s ticket portal.
