The Other Four Every Time I Die Members Rehearsed New Material Without Keith Buckley
In January, metalcore favorites Every Time I Die announced to the world that they’d broken up. The split was later explained Rashomon-style by the various members, with frontman Keith Buckley claiming he was the victim of a conspiracy vilifying his mental health issues and sobriety and bassist Steve Micciche saying that Buckley basically became a demanding drama queen who refused to communicate with his bandmates. That said, it looks like the remaining members of the band are following through on their plan to form a new project without Keith, as guitarist (and Keith’s brother) Jordan Buckley posted a picture of them rehearsing new material without Keith.
Jordan posted the picture below to his personal Instagram (which still lists him as ‘jordanetid,’ suggesting that he’s not trying to wipe the slate clean entirely) with the following caption:
“Yo how fuckin dope is it that the only person who knows what our new parts sound like is the dude that was staying at our Air BNB this week?! ???? Thanks for letting us practice Connor! You fuckin rule!”
Lucky-ass Air BNB’er.
Look, we know the ETID breakup was fraught, and that the two sides have very different takes on what happened and why it happened. This author’s personal opinion is that when four band members say, Shit got unmanageable, and one of them says, I was attacked by these four schemers colluding on my downfall, the former is normally the case. But more than anything, we just want to say: fuck yeah, boys! It would’ve been easy to let this public break-up scuttle you, and instead you’re doing what you said you’d do and making more music. A million kudos, and good luck!
