Nick Cordle (ex-Arch Enemy/Arsis) to Play Guitar for Omnium Gatherum on Upcoming Tour
Nick Cordle, best known for his stints in Arch Enemy, Arsis and Sanctuary, will play guitar for Omnium Gatherum alongside band leader Markus Vanhala on the band’s upcoming North American tour. The month-long trek, which is scheduled to kick off at the end of February and run through March, will also feature modern DM warriors Allegaeon and progressive death weirdos Black Crown Initiate.
The jaunt won’t be Cordle and Vanhala’s first dance together: Cordle played with Omnium Gatherum on the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise in early 2020 and has also performed in Vanhala’s other band, Insomnium, on two U.S. tours (in 2015 and 2018).
Speaking to MetalSucks by email, Vanhala explains:
“I’m more than happy to announce that my really good buddy, my North American axe-partner and guitar-slasher session ninja from Virginia, Nick Cordle (ex- Arch Enemy / Arsis / Sanctuary), will join forces with us and shred for Omnium Gatherum again for the upcoming North American tour rolling from late February to late March! The tour will be OG’s first headlining tour in the U.S., which is the second thing I’m really looking forward to. We will also be joining forces with amazing support bands Allegaeon and Black Crown Initiate for the run. What a fine metal package we have for you fine metal people!
“Nick has helped the OG gang before, playing with us on the 70,000 Tons Of Metal & Cocktails, and he was supposed to play on tour with us in spring 2020… which was cancelled because of some weird virus… or, well, we did played one show in Philadelphia. That’s still the most expensive one-off show we’ve ever done, and hopefully will stay that way! Nick also filled in with my other band Insomnium on U.S. tours in 2015 and 2018. So he is my trusted guitar buddy with only an ocean between us.
“Really, really looking forward to TOUR, play for you and see all our North American metal buddies. Let’s salute together soon, like in old times!”
Omnium Gatherum will be playing songs from their latest album, Origin, which came out last November via Century Media Records; pre-order here.
